Just thought this was an interesting statistic...

Here's a little interesting bit of information: according to this video on YouTube, if MySpace were a country, it would be the eleventh-largest in the world. I am presuming this is in terms of population, not land area.

Now, I've taken a course in statistics, so I know that it's important to check your sources. I would love to know where the individual who made the video found this, because it's really quite interesting and I want to make sure it's factual. There's an old adage of my father's that I go by. He's got this quote in his office at work that he's carried with him for years, probably since before I was born, and I consider it gospel.

"In God we trust - all others must bring data."

If you can't see the video for some reason, I've taken a screenshot of the MySpace bit. You can view that right here.

Also, here's some interesting news from New Jersey, my home state: We're thinking of putting a ban on drivers who send text messages whilst they're motoring. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but typically people send text messages with their cellular telephones. Were these devices not already outlawed? Shouldn't there already be a law against text messaging whilst driving? I am horribly confused now.

On the plus side, I was amused when I found out that New Jersey has a Democratic Assemblyman named Moriarty. (I like Sherlock Holmes, but I also love The Goon Show. Yay for Sellers, Secombe and Milligan - and Bentine and Ellington, too. I'm not forgetting you guys.)

comedy: the goon show, places: new jersey, internet: youtube, londinium: sherlock holmes
