This is how sad my life is: the highlight of my day today was my mom witnessing Yo Gabba Gabba! and calling Muno a "giant orange penis."

Actually, a better highlight of my day would be how well Justin Masterson pitched today. I was looking forward to seeing Justin the sinkerballer pitch in that incredibly hitter-friendly park, and the results do not disappoint. Philly is not friendly to pitchers who rely on flyouts (every time I have been there, someone has gone deep - the most notable individual being Josh Beckett), so I was excited to see how someone like Justin would do. And he did a fantastic job.

I'm now flipping between the Cubs-Rays game and Stanford trying to stay alive in the College World Series. I keep flipping because I'm really rather nervous about this game - Miami is ranked number one right now, and they definitely have what it takes to be here. And yet Stanford does too, and I'd love to see them win it and hang in there a little longer. These elimination games just kill me.

Oh, and some bad news - Colon is going to the DL because he hurt his back swinging the other night. The good news? Daisuke is ready to come back and take that spot in the rotation. (Additionally, Rick Justin gets to stay!) My brother and I got a kick out of Colon's hacks on Monday - they were particularly hideous. He resembled a first grader swinging for the fences on a varsity field. It was a remarkable showing of a lack of plate discipline.

Cord Phelps, on the other hand? Lovely plate discipline. He just fought off several pitches to hit a triple, putting Stanford up 7-1 in the bottom of the fifth. I love you, Cord.
