I wore my Pedroia shirt today and he hit a home run. I guess I should wear it every day from now on.
So I'm two for three on my jersey/shirt-wearing lately. A few weeks ago, I wore my Tek jersey, and that night he called Jon Lester's no-hitter. And today I wore my Pedroia shirt, and he homered in Cincinnati (oh, Josh, nice shutout - you looked like a staff ace today!). Of course, yesterday I wore my Papelbon jersey, and we all know what happened yesterday. Whoops.
Today all I have done is sit around with my family and watch baseball, and that is quite fine with me. My dad is currently on his way to France on a business trip, so we had to send him off - he and I are practically clones of one another, especially in our thought processes (we even draw the same clues when we play Pictionary), so I'm going to miss him a lot. We watched the Mets-Rangers doubleheader, though (the Mets' comeback in the first game fell just short, but they won the second game due to a pinch hit from a fellow named Cancel who hadn't had a hit in the Majors in nine years!). In the middle of the second game, I went out to try to throw a bullpen session in the backyard, but the humidity got to me and I developed a headache, so I decided not to take a chance. I am now watching the Angels and Braves, because if baseball is on TV I have to watch it, and I ogled Saunders' sinker, because I rather enjoy sinkerballers, especially Justin Masterson and this other one here (pretend he's real).
There's really no non-baseball news, because I didn't do anything that wasn't related to baseball today. The game runs my life (even in fictional form), and I'm perfectly fine with that.
EDIT: FINALLY! I was able to find Mr. Fullswing on One Manga! I've been looking for this series for a long time...I finally get to read it now! Yes! (...yes, I'm addicted to baseball manga and anime. Why do you ask?)
EDIT 2: Meet Tomaru. Tomaru is a second baseman. Tomaru is also insanely adorable. (God, I just love those middle infielders, don't I?)
EDIT 3: Tomaru has managed to get cuter. (See also here - he's the one in the striped hat.) I love this kid already.
