Just a few quick hits here...nothing very interesting happened to me today.
~ I have now read up through volume nine of Prince of Tennis. It's just ridiculously addicting...I love it.
~ Poor Wake...from what I've read, that was a nice quality start of his there, and the offense let him down yet again. Luckily, it's time for a homestand - and I'll even get to catch the Wednesday game on TV!
~ I watched Texas A&M and ASU play some Women's College World Series softball today, too - and for Dustin Pedroia's sake, it would be cool to see the Sun Devils win it, especially considering that they've never won the WCWS before. Besides, I have to stick with the Pac-10, as they're my favorite conference for baseball and softball (Cal is the notable exception, as Jed has made me biased in this case). As I write this, ASU has taken the first game and currently needs one more win to bring it all home to Tempe.
~ On another college note,
STANFORD! YES! I was terrified when I saw they were losing on the ESPN ticker, but was then elated later in the evening when I saw, much to my relief, that they had indeed overcome Pepperdine and were on their way to the Super Regionals.
~ I watched the French Open again and made a lot of bad Tezuka Zone jokes every single time one of the commentators mentioned that a player was 'in the zone.' Is that wrong? I've always loved tennis - I used to go to the U.S. Open every year - but Tenipuri is seriously increasing my enjoyment of the sport even more. (I have also decided that I want Eiji to be my friend in real life. He's amazing.)
~ EDIT:
Eiji is my friend. See? I need to forget to live in reality again, because that's less fun.
~ Watching the Mets in San Francisco right now, although this is a tad painful. Okay, it's rather painful. Having both of the Major League teams I watch lose on the same day is never fun. Hopefully, the Mets will pull this one out, considering that it's only the bottom of the second as I type this. And if I need to feel better, I'll just remind myself about Stanford being awesome. Because they are awesome. Nuff ced.
