Rejected by UCSD, and I'm actually a little relieved about it. The prospect of six more years there made me more than a little nervous.
Vanderbilt appears to be extending full funding for the next five years of my life, and the opportunity to do lots of survey work in Latin America. Let me repeat: full funding, without TAships, for five years. Plus they want to fly me in to visit their campus.
No news from Cal yet, but my hopes aren't particularly high, or particularly low. I don't think I'll be particularly crushed if they say no, either.
I would like to just know already, though, so I can start making concrete plans. Will continue to wait impatiently.
