XXVIII ✟ [Audio]

For all the talk which began to float around the moment trouble arose, such a commotion certainly died down quickly. I have to wonder now whether the same threats will begin again if something should happen in the future ( Read more... )

[Private][Video] after harassment from brain slug notintehkitchen May 30 2011, 09:32:49 UTC
[Something about the way he speaks and seems very unamused makes her want to her expose her face. Will this make Paradise a little more interesting to him? Usually all those horrid burn scars give everyone a fright.]

Is it still dull now?

[Less outright scared and more morbidly curious, certainly offers something to actually be interested in.]

I suppose not. You have quite a number of injuries there.

[Tact? What is that?]

Injuries?

[Pausing for a moment, she then smiles brightly while laughing.]

Oh! Yes, I see. You must mean my 'kisses'. This is my gift from fire, Kaworu-kun.

[Private][Video] Very weird ones. xD 17thfreewill May 30 2011, 21:02:40 UTC
[He should have guessed that it was Pyro he was speaking with. It's obvious now.]

I should have guessed that you would see such a thing in a positive light. It still seems to me to be a rather unfriendly gift though.

You get used to them. As someone who has dedicated my life to the flames, I see it as something wonderful. It's like I'm connecting with the the thing I love most in the whole world.

You don't seem...too surprised I'm a female. It makes me really glad.

A dangerous connection given the substance. I don't suppose that is really of any concern in your mind though, is it? You truly do seem to be one who 'does what they love for a living'.

It makes you glad?

That is correct. You still haven't joined me for s'mores, Kaworu-kun.

A feeling similar to that, yes. I was expecting a different reaction. Aaaaah...it's been so long since I've unmasked my appearance around a non co-worker that I wonder if I'm just starting not to care anymore in this world.

You're right, I haven't and I really should change that one day soon.

Were you expecting a negative reaction or something along those lines? ...Sometimes it's easier to stay hidden by some sort of disguise, you can be what you wish without judgement.

You should. Sweets taste better when there is someone to share them with. We can get a huge bonfire going.

[Just how HUGE does she mean by huge?]

Back in my time, it's not very common to see someone of my gender in my line of work.

...

Actually, my teammates back home don't even know I'm female. I've always kept the mask on because I thought it'd cause a lot less trouble and distractions that way. I don't understand males too well, but...they seem to litter their filth magazines out where any eyes could see them, so I assume they haven't caught onto me yet. That or they just don't care. Either would be fine.

I shall have to take your word on that. Preferably not a degree of fire which is uncontrollable? I doubt that people would be too happy if a wide area ended up burning.

Your time? It must have been a fair number of years ago to still have an inequality in jobs.

I assume that hiding your gender would make things easier in the long run; males in general tend to let their instincts of protection run out of control at times. Not that it really matters either way unless they begin to act strange so to speak.

Oh, well. Hm, I'm unsure if I'll able to resist. It won't get that big until we at least eat our s'mores. Don't worry, no worries.

I'm from 1968. What year is it where you come from?

Nothing too out of the ordinary except telling me to stop mumbling and take my mask off. I'm clearly intelligible with it on, don't you think so?

So long as you can keep the temptation at bay for a while, it can likely be worked around.

2015. A fair number of years ahead.

I can see that as being an understandable request, you can be rather difficult to understand with it on. Sound apparently doesn't pass through the material terribly well.

Hopefully. My eye starts to twitch after periods of time where I don't get enough fire exposure. Smoking can help it.

What is it like? That's so far in the future! Is there flying cars?

[Because every child growing up back then was told there was going to be.]

Do people live on Mars yet?!

[Laughing, she shakes her head.]

The other Pyro understands me just fine. Kaworu-kun~ You must learn hudda speak.

Have you thought about gaining hold of a lighter and simply turning it on and off?

Flying cars? Not quite. It is however a technologically advanced place though, simply in other areas.
Likewise for Mars, people are still only as far as the moon.

[Totally skipping over the fact that a huge chunk of the world is actually destroyed.]

I must learn what? I assume that's what you call the mumbles the two of you communicate in?

That is such a weak little spark, it is nothing compared to the beauty of my flamethrower.

They...landed on the moon? REALLY?! W-wow! Finally! When did this happen?

[Is only a year off from that event happening and so not expecting it so soon. Oh dear.]

Yes. It is a very easy language to understand. You just need to listen carefully. We communicate in English back where I work no matter what country you are from, so basically it's muffled English.

[Private][Video] 17thfreewill May 31 2011, 22:14:12 UTC
It can't keep you satisfied until a large flame can be created?

I believe the first landing was actually 1969. You certainly won't have too long to wait for it back at your home.

[Well... Surprise?]

English? A language i'm a little rusty on to say the least. It does raise the question of whether it's translated into 'common' here though.
