So I guess now is a good time to update since today I'm only taking a half hour break, as opposed to a one hour lunch.
Recap on Warped '06:
I think I may like the location @ Bicentennial more than West Palm. It seems like everything is closer together and arranged nicely. Im still not too familiar where everything is, but I think I do like how it was set up. The weather was good for most of the day, except when the sun came out around 4:30 to burn things up, then mother nature hit us with a horrible thunderstorm. Yea, I left early but I really enjoyed what I was able to see.
AM! was great, as usual. Always on point, on key, and full of energy. They played "Miami" which really made my day :)
Anti-Flag was freaking amazing. I gotta say, they put on an amazing live show, not to mention they play flawlessly, and sound incredible. Plus, I love the boingy ernie-ball bass, and it sounds soo much better live.
The Bled was FREAKING INCREDIBLE, opening with "The Sound of Sulfur" and closing with "Red Wedding" I could of not asked for more out of them.
I also accompanied turtle to watch Motion City Soundtrack and The Academy Is.. and although I am not a fan of either band, I must say that they did blow me away with their performance. Motion City's keyboardist is amazing and plays that thing like he invented it. The singer has a great voice live too. The Academy Is, also put on a great show, even though I didnt know any of their songs, I couldnt help but tap my foot to all their music. The lead singer also has great range on his voice, kind of reminded me of the singer from the Get Up Kids.
The last band I got to watch was The Bouncing Souls, and of course they have NEVER let me down. They played some AWESOME old school hits, as well as some new ones, like opening with "The Gold Song" and also "Lean on Sheena". Besides that... they played "Hopeless Romantic" which is like their greatest song ever. There is nothing like hearing that song live.
Either way, I had fun with my buds at the show, mother nature raped us, gatorade prices raped us, the bad tattoos raped us, but all-in-all I had a great time and can't wait for next year.
Whats next ? Well I got my tickets to rancid, and I gotta get my tickets to RBF.
