On last Sunday's Weekend Edition on NPR, my friend Kathy Witkowsky had
a piece on Andrew Bedard. (Some of you know Kathy - she went to
Cornell, lives in Missoula, and has been a kind of strange mentor of
mine.) It's incredibly well done; many listeners have written in
to say it's the best one they have heard. (It's part of a series called
'Remembrances' of individual men and women who have died while fighting
in Iraq.) If you haven't heard it yet, you can listen to it on
the
website. Ms. Hinman is on it, among other people you might recognize.
It's very, very sad; listen to it alone, especially if you knew him.
