[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]

Name: Kagura
Age: 14
Gender: female
Fandom: Gintama (anime)
Timeline: Episode 148. Post-Yoshiwara arc. The Yorozuya just managed to free Yoshiwara from the clutches of an all-Yato squad of the Harusame pirates which included Kagura's brother, Kamui. Kagura and Shinpachi demand a training arc.

Character Personality:

There are two sides to how Kagura views herself. First of all, she views herself as someone superior to everybody else. This view isn’t unjustified: reaction to sunlight aside, humans are much weaker compared to Yato clansmen. She is the most physically strong character in Gintama’s main cast, with her super strength, her regenerative abilities and how she never catches a cold. And Kagura will remind everyone about this, lording over everybody with constant physical and verbal abuse. She is, after all, the self-proclaimed Queen of Kabukichou.

This side, however, might just be a cover. How she always has to assert her strength might be a way for her to hide how much she hates being considered weak. This might also be a result of being raised as a Yato. For a Yato clansman, weakness can easily lead to death. The Yato almost went extinct not because they were weak against other races but because their violent instincts causes them to fight one another. She was exposed to this violence when her brother and father tried to kill each other. Had the two parties been weaker than they were, one of them could really have died. There might be some guilt on her part on how she was not able to stop them before her father lost and arm and her brother got himself killed. And she may not realize or acknowledge the fact that things would have gotten worse had she not been there. Either way, she knew that weakness was her enemy. She decided that she should be strong enough to resist the violent tendencies of her clan so that she would not suffer the same fate as her family. For her, strength meant being powerful while remaining in control. And most of all, strength meant being unhurt.

And so she built this protective shell, playing the role of a bully to keep others away. The less she cared about other people, the less hurt she’ll be when they get hurt. Fortunately or unfortunately, Kagura can not help but be kind and gullible. She will help when there is trouble, she really does care when the people around her a hurt. And somewhere in her innocent yet jaded heart, she would like to believe that there are people who care back, that she isn’t living in a dog-eat-dog, survival of the fittest kind of world.

As far as intelligence is concerned though, Kagura is a bit lacking. For example, if you hang a banana from the ceiling and put a box on the floor that's just the right height to stand on to reach the banana, a monkey might get the right idea. Kagura, on the other hand, will probably break the walls until the ceiling falls down so she could grab the banana before it gets squished. Common sense isn't a common thing to her, her thought process is so simple that it hurts. This sometimes lead to some pretty blunt (and sometimes helpful) insights, but mostly leads to other people feeling their brain hurt. She has no formal education and tends to learn from the people around her, quoting her mother and Gintoki from time to time. While she may be a glutton and can be extremely greedy, her simpleness makes it so that she's easily amused and satiated by the most mundane things.

By the way, don't make her hold a baby. I don't think she understands the basics of human life yet.

Character Abilities:

As a Yato, Kagura has a few superhuman capabilities that set her off from other humans, like super strength and self-healing. The specific extent of Kagura's strength is unknown, as it is often exaggerated in the anime for comedic purpose. It is known that she could carry her pet dog, Sadaharu over her head with a bit of effort (let's assume that Sadaharu is approximately the same weight as three people with an everyday diet of fast food.) Though she can be wounded in the same way a normal human being would, she heals exceptionally fast. For example, bullet wounds would heal in minutes. Again, the actual limits to this power is unknown, though I'm assuming that she can't regrow limbs and the like. These powers are also a part of her nature, and is something that she can not control (thus causing the death of Sadaharu # 1, a cute, fluffy bunny who was crushed under the weight of her hug.)

It is also in the nature of her race to have an instinct for violence. Once excited, a Yato becomes almost unstoppable. It doesn't matter who gets involved, destruction is something that gets this people off. Kagura tries her best to suppress this instinct, but it only ends up powering her up more when those that are important to her are in danger. For example, in one chapter in Gintama, Kagura was forced to fight against one of her fellow Yatos. She was losing at first, until her opponent stabbed Shinpachi to awaken her latent instincts. Thinking that Shinpachi had died, Kagura went mad. Her attacks became strong enough to knock that adult Yato down. Her face contorted into a creepy smile, her eyes dilated. And she would have killed her opponent had Shinpachi come to his senses and stopped her by reminding her how the Kagura he knew was not a violent person.

Kagura also has the amazing ability to eat... A LOT. This is not to be underestimated, as this girl can down two large bowls of noodle soup in seconds. And she is hardly full. This might be a Yato-related thing, judging from how Kamui's the same.

Kagura is also a trained fighter, with a fighting style that can only be described as a mish-mash of different kung-fu styles plus your standard dirty street fighting. She's a decent marksmasn as well.

Character Weaknesses:

Sunlight. Those of the Yato clan are weak against sunlight. They're like Dracula without the blood obsession, the finesse and... okay, so they're only like Dracula when it comes to sunlight. That's why they always have umbrellas with them all the time. They're fine as long as they stay under them.

Kagura's not very smart and she's very naive. She's impulsive with decisions and she's easily swayed by emotional displays. She's the type of person who can be duped by infomercials. Fooling around with her head's a pretty easy task.

Also, food. So very easily duped with food.

[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]

What are the abilities that your character will retain in Soul Campaign?- Super strength. Nerfed down to the strength of a body builder thrice her size.
- Yato rage
- It's just not Kagura unless she eats you out of house and home.

What are the weaknesses that your character will lose or gain in Soul Campaign?- I think the fast healing would be unecessary given how fast wounds heal in SC. It's not as fast as in canon but it's fast enough. And she's basically godmodey with her healing.

Keeping the game’s premise in mind, please give us a brief explanation of your plans for your character in Soul Campaign.

Her living conditions in Death City are actually better than in her original world. She will enjoy having her own room (and her own bed) though she might end up moving in with some castmates if they agree to that. She'll continue to eat everything and anything and pick fights/make friends with the neighborhood children. Insulting everyone and making other people's brain bleed over the network is also something to expect from her. As for the fighting Witches part, she'd probably enjoy that... at first. Just don't let her overhtink it.

[ WEAPON ONLY SECTION ]

Why your character should be a Weapon:

I believe Kagura would identify more with being a Weapon than a Meister despite her claims of always being the boss or the leader. When it comes to serious situations, she's more the type to fight for others than to fight for herself; the type who assists fights instead of starting them.

What is your character's Weapon form?:

Kagura's weapon form is that of a parasol, the same type of parasol people of her clan carry around with them at all times. It's about as good with shading its owner from the sun and rain as a normal parasol usually is. It's also good with shielding its weilder from other things like bullets, angry cats, falling vending machines, etc. It's made of nigh indestructible material, so you could also use the parasol as a melee weapon. It should be about as effective as hitting things with a solid metal pipe.

Another thing that sets off a Yato's parasol from your normal parasol is that it doubles as a gun. In the case of Soul Campaign, the bullets are Soul Wavelength bullets which means that its effective depends highly on the strength and resonation of both Weapon and Meister. Kagura will automatically be set on automatic machine gun mode though. It might be best that her Meister be warned about this. (She probably won't warn the poor sap herself). Throughout the progression of the original series, her parasol was modified to shoot lasers but since that causes a higher level of damage, it will again be modified in game. It's a more powerful attack and so it can only be accessed by a Meister who has formed a powerful bond with her. It could also only be used once Kagura's had her fill of 25 souls.

[ SOUL INFORMATION ]

Soul Description:

innocent, mischievous, feisty, determined, sadistic, peaceloving

Soul Appearance:

It is an old man with an eyepatch and he responds to the name "Jassant". Kidding aside, it's a small orange ball with her standard hair buns. Its face looks pretty pissed.

First Person:

[A little girl stares at the communicator up close... too close. She pulls away and starts to speak, mimicking the voice of a haughty woman.]

Mirror, mirror, on my palm. Who's the most beautiful, cutest and sexiest girl in the world?

[And then, turning her head to the side, she tries to mimic the voice of an old man. She has a naturally high pitched voice so this doesn't work that well.]

Naturally, it's you, Kagura.

[Now speaking in her normal voice, she bounces up and down her bed.]

Isn't it right? Isn't it right? I must have been a really good girl this year because Santa gave me a room and my own bed! I don't have to sleep in Gin-chan's cramped closet that smells like mothballs and despair. It had enough room for Sadaharu but it didn't even have enough room for a pet owl!

And sometimes, when Gin-chan accidentally watches a horror film, he would let me sleep on a futon next to him but it smells of old men, squid and more despair. And the roof leaks and the floors creak especially during that day when I accidentally knocked over some dead guy's urn somewhere. [She shrugs.]

But this room is all mine, right? It's so big! And the bed is so soft! And the pillows! [She burries her head on one of the pillows and takes a long, hard sniff. She throws the pillow in the air with glee.] It doesn't smell like old men and despair!

And under the bed! I bet you could hide so many boogers under this bed. Gin-chan won't have to hide it in the creases of the futon anymore! I bet he has a whole mountin under his bed! A whole mountain! A salty, disgusting mountain!

Thank you, Santa Claus! I knew you'd come through for me!

Third Person:

It was a fruitful training session. She crawled back into her closetspace, well, Gintoki's closetspace, and went to sleep. She's tired and she's a growing girl. Not even transdimensional travel would wake her.

And so she continued to sleep on the floor of Shibusen's kishin chamber. She rubbed her belly. She rolled around. She mumbled "five more minutes, mami" and rolled around again.

All while a man in a giant monitor was rambling about a war and turning into weapons and so and such matters. But there's always a war and every man has his own choice of weapon if we were to get philosophical about it. She didn't care.

She really didn't care.

Not even when it felt like he was talking louder.

No really, she didn't care.

That monitor was too bright but it's alright she can sleep through this. She can endure--

"SHUT UP, OLD MAN! I'M TRYING TO SLEEP!" She punched the monitor, creating a crack on the screen.

And then...

And then...

... she slumped down and continued dreaming about a land of sukonbu, infomercials and magical ponies because all girls dream of magical ponies.
