Day 162. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - 'The White Tomb.'
I think it's really telling that Harry, Ron and Hermione don't discuss anything in front of Gin. In fact, it sounds as if they actively wait for her to leave what with 'The moment the door had closed behind her, Hermione leaned forward...'R.A.B.?' said Harry, sitting up straight.'
And that right there is the main problem I have with Harry and Gin. I like that it makes Harry happy and some of their stuff (the first kiss) is totally fucking adorable. But.
Why don't they talk about this stuff in front of her? Because Dumbledore told him only to talk to Ron and Hermione?
It just seems like Gin could help, what with being possessed by him and all.
I don't know. Harry says it himself - that it feels like someone else's life. Which brings us to their conversation at Dumbledore's funeral.
So painful. So ridiculous. It kinda makes me want to throw shit.
First - when Harry thinks that they 'understood each other perfectly' I want to throw things (again, some more). Because as much as I love Harry, he does not need someone encouraging his insane behaviour. He needs Ron and Hermione saying, 'Are you fucking kidding me with this hero stands alone crap?'
Second - Voldemort did NOT choose Gin to get to Harry in CoS. Lucius chose Gin to try and discredit Arthur. Something Dumbledore TOLD him, not that long ago.
Third - 'It's been like...like something out of someone else's life.' Self-explanatory.
Fourth - Gin starts out strong, what with 'What if I don't care?' but then she just completely backs down. 'Maybe that's why I like you so much?' You like him because he's going to run off, alone, and get himself killed? Just. God. Stand UP to him.
I will stop now, becuase I could go on all day.
And now for the good stuff -
Harry's talk with Scrimgeour. Just the whole fucking thing is brilliant.
I get a little...tingle or something when Harry says, 'and I'm the one who's going to kill him.' Positive thinking, my man. I heartily approve.
Hermione KILLS me with 'You said to us once before...that there was time to turn back if we wanted to. We've had time, haven't we?'
Finally - TRIO. Omg. *sniff*
And now for the great stuff -
