Today was a good sweater day much of the day, especially in the early morning and later evening. Good sweater days are among my favorite kinds of days. I wore a gray fuzzy turtleneck and breathed in the sweet smell of decay as I walked across the bridge and thought, "wow. nice sky"
Riding the bus was also pleasant this morning. Rumbly but not jerky.
A Tip for making even your scratchiest sweater soft and fuzzy:
wash it 5 times in cold water with a cup of salt (table, pickling, or rock all work OK) added, along with any other clothing you'd like to make softer.
during the rinse cycle of the 5th wash, add a half a bottle of 99 cent hair conditioner, suave, white rain, whatever.
it can turn an unwearable sweater into a favorite.
also on the clothes-that-don't-drive-you-crazy front:
this weekend I went on my twice-yearly trip to a store that I can't endorse to purchase socks, boxers, and a couple of white T-shirts. I can never find these items in my size at thrift stores and, being the lazy comfort-addicted United Statesian I am, I am willing to experience the constant sensation of holes in clothes that touch my skin for only so long. I discovered that 'they' (meaning people who labor in sweatshops) now make t shirts and boxers without tags and with seamless bands, from really soft cotton. my comfort level the past few days has been around 11, and I'd like to thank those who might make my trip to the bad store less likely with this link:
