my faith in humanity has been restored
so i went to cumbys to get a pack of cigarettes. i was paying in change and had it all layed out on the counter and everything and i gave the lady my ID. as most of you know i used to work at cumbys and i had to get my ID to get my job there. i couldnt get a mass ID because i dont have a proof of signature and i cant get the things i needed for a proof of signature without an ID so i got this ghetto ass check cashing ID.
every employee at cumbys has sold me cigarettes when i gave them that ID and its never been a problem. today, it was. so i walked out of the store putting my change away and swearing under my breath. i walked home really pissed off and as i was about to cross 7th street a big white truck stopped in front of me. i was about to start screaming at him when he pulled out a pack of marlboros and handed them to me. i didnt really know what was going on. he said "here, since they wouldnt let you buy them in there" my jaw dropped open and i started getting my money out of my bag to give to him but he wouldnt take it. i said thank you like 7 times and he drove off.
just when you think the world is full of assholes someone goes and does something awesome like that. the money that i was gonna spend on smokes was the only money i had. so because he bought them for me i was able to not starve and actually pay for the bus. i wish i could find this guy and like give him a hug or something. i know im probably not going to so im just gonna pass the kindness on to someone else...
