iron and wine was not as good as i hoped it would be. the songs that were just him, samuel beam, were fantastic. but he also brought a band along, which was to be expected i guess, but it was five pieces in addition to himself. having that many people playing instruments wrecked a good number of the songs they did. after all, beam's main appeal is the minimalism of his songs. pretty much the only thing so many additional players brought to the show was one musical cliche after another.
i feel like i need to quit having sweets in the house. if it's just candy lying around, i won't touch it. but if it's a piece of cake, i'll fight any fat kid in the room for it. still, i'm around 12 to 15 pounds lighter than i was a year ago.
