Notes: Spoilers for up to Case 4. This is meant to take place before Tatsuya learns about Sion's sleeping habits, obviously. ^^;
Honestly, Sion didn't know why the others weren't more excited.
Tatsuya had found them a home. No more wondering what they were going to do once it started raining, or the nights got cold. They'd all be together. Wasn't that supposed to be what mattered? Yes, it was small, but after the large, empty cell he had back at the Lab, it was a welcome change.
The lab...
Sion took a breath and shook off the memory. That... that was in his past. Better to leave it there and focus on what he had now.
He placed a hand against a bare white wall and smiled. He was home.
"Sion!" Tatsuya opened the door with his shoulder. He came into the living room, setting a bag down on the couch. "I got you something."
"Really?" More surprised than anything else, Sion began to rummage in the bag. He pulled out a soft, bright blue long-sleeved shirt. When he checked the bag again, he found a pair of matching pants.
"Tatsuya-san?"
Tatsuya rubbed the back of his neck, giving him an embarrassed grin. "They still have pajamas in the thirtieth century, right? I noticed that you didn't have any, so I thought as long as I'd was out I'd get you a pair." He tugged on the pajama shirt sleeve. "You do like blue, right?"
"You got this. For me."
Tatsuya sighed heavily. "I knew it, I should've gone with the pink. I'm sorry--"
Anything Tatsuya would have said after that was cut off as Sion grabbed him in a fierce hug. "Thank you," he finally managed to whisper.
Tatsuya froze up... and then he patted Sion's hair. "Wow. Maybe I should buy you clothes more often?"
Sion smiled against Tatsuya's chest. Tatsuya didn't understand, but that was all right. Just knowing that there was someone in his life who would do something like this for him was more than enough for Sion.
This wasn't just a home. This, and Tatsuya, were the closest thing to paradise Sion would ever experience.
