it's after 22:00 and the 'phone rings. a neightbour who had been out walking his dog called to let me know that night blooming jasmine was out on upper Grove Avenue so would I head over there to get a picture?
a street light on Johnson Alley provided more illumination than I had expected, even so this image isn't anything to get excited about. you'd just about have to close your eyes to take in the way the scent of the flowers is released into lingering warmth of the day, the rhythm of the rise and fall of the sound of the crickets, and all of the pieces that make up a late summer evening.
it's barely visual at all.
