[Tanquered had been his home, a place where he found comfort in all of the small things. It seemed that despite his attempts to circumvent his situation, he was certainly pleased to know that at the very least he had a place that would welcome him. As he was. As he was intended to be. He was missing a small piece of his puzzle, but he would have

Going to a party of one of the most powerful vampires in the city when you're already what's on the menu wouldn't be smart in a normal universe, but in this universe -- refusing the invitation could be far worse.
Not to say that Anna liked it. She didn't. She'd been there for a month, and she was already sick of it, but she knew that fighting it wasn't going to get her anywhere. These weren't like the vamps back home. And the rules weren't the same.
So this is Anna, at the party, feeling a little apprehensive, but hoping that at the end of the night she will walk out of the party with most of her blood still in her body.
Hopefully.]

She paints on a smile and nods]
Yeah. You know how to throw a great party.

It's not as grand as the ones back home, but we do try to exceed expectations at the very least when forced to work with what's available.

Buffy gives a thin-lipped smile at that, eyebrows raising as she gives a nod that's obviously forced and placating. ] Gee, providing invitations and everything. And here I thought you wouldn't need one. You know, public dwelling and all.
[ She steps into the museum hall, heels clicking on the tile floors as she shrugs off her jacket. It's a bad idea. But no worse than being here is a bad idea. As far as parties to walk yourself into as a Slayer, big gathering of vamps where you're likely the main course ... not the brightest. But, it meant getting an idea of who's who and, as much as she hated admitting that it was necessary, figuring out just how this place worked.
And so far, the only thing she's sure of is that there are way too many vampires here to take on all by her lonesome. Dear back-up: please arrive soon. And with weapons. Because one puny stake in her purse is beyond not gonna cut it. ]

Too bad garlic only works on your breath.

[she isn't sure if any of them are going to show up here, but she's met them. And the ones from home are definitely not.]
And permanent solutions ... only get you in more trouble than you're already in.

She is completely clueless to the fact that she looks very much like someone Klaus knew a very long time ago.]

It was odd though - to think there was a doppel of Rose. Of what importance had she been?
He'll just stalk her for a bit more, trying to get a sense of who she is.]

And apparently it is.
At some point, she takes notice of her stalker, though she doesn't make this obvious right off. Instead she makes her way to a nearby table for a drink--of the alcoholic variety.]
Won't you come have a drink with me? Or do you intend to watch me from afar all evening?
[She assumes he'll pick up on her questions.]

The view is quite nice from all the way over here. Perhaps you'll change that by joining me.
