DIFFERENT TIMES? two from Japan claim to be from 18XX and 2006 respectively.

powers are being weakened?

other terms: "mutant" (given inhuman powers through genetics? sounds like Naomi's field of expertise, also reminds me of the X-Men [another patient mentioned Wolverine]), "shinigami" (someone else pointed out that they're common in anime), "alchemy" (science not magic, mentioned by "Ed." trying not to jump to conclusions, but...)

Maybe we really are all crazy.
