So as an early 21st Birthday/Christmas/Hannukah present, I got a Canon Powershot SX20IS. I've always been attracted to Canon's and I really like the look of it as well as the feel. I've wanted a camera with some horsepower behind it for about 5 years now and also wanted to have a little bit more manual control (which it has, but I lack the training to use with flourish right now, part of the reason I'm not ready for a DSLR even if I like it) and HD movie ability, all of which this has.
So hopefully somewhere between writing and working right now I can learn a little bit of less amatuerish photography as well. Or just take really amazing amateur Cosplay photos.
The image from my balcony when it began to snow hard like right after I tried to put my camera away.
With the ridiculous 50x zoom on. It's suppose to be 20x but it really could go up to 80x and be super grainy.
Nuzzle the Puppet Christmas Tree Topper -- and Scott Porter's arms.
Manual focus using the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book
Manual focus/zoom of the CN tower from my apartment.
Another shot of downtown from my balcony. It was the first shot, so I don't remember if it's manual or auto.
And finally, video, not in HD but pretty cool anyways:
