my puppy love and literature ^^
OMG! I ADORE my english language professor!!!) Though I have some complaints about the way he teaches (but I suppose it's a temporary thing 'cause we are a new group for him and he simply doesn't know quite yet what to do with us =))), I absolutely love him as a person! He's adorably cynical, sarcastic and witty! =))) And of course he knows a lot of stuff, he's so erudite and well-read that you feel like just a silly creature who knows nothing %))) But it doesn't make you feel minuscule...instead it makes you admire him to no end and encourages you to learn and read and think...))) He has some special charm...that's weird, but he can say unflattering things to you right in your face and you will look at him with puppy eyes and stupid smile on your face as if he's saying you are the apple of his eye! xD
But the most exciting thing about him is that he is a writer! Sci-fi writer to be exact))) I've read one of his short stories recently and I LOVE his manner of writing!) But I didn't tell him I read it, it feels a bit awkward to talk about it with him yet, may be later when we know each other better =)
And as he is a writer he is really good at literature and we often talk about books instead of studying english ^^ =) Among other things he strongly recommended Stieg Larsson and Banana Yoshimoto! I really really want to read it! God, I wish books weren't so expensive and I had all the time in the world to read them %) Btw, now I'm reading Peter Hoeg's Borderliners and it's absolutely amazing! I also started Hugh Laurie's The Gun Seller - it's so witty and hilarious! And the language is just great!) I finally have my wish for reading back))) Seriously, who needs reality when the fiction world is so much more interesting? =)
