*pause as his brain registers that. For a moment he thinks of his Seishirou but then remembers there was another Seishirou here*

He...died? How? *it was true he hadn't heard fo him for a while but he hadn't cared about it since that Seishirou was rather...different from his*

[He kinda forgot about the other Seishirou, so he feels a bit like an ass for not clarifying, but hey, at least the other Subaru knew who he was talking about! Even though he's being pretty blunt, Subaru has a very empty tone about his voice.]

... I killed him. I ... had to.

Y-you.... *ok another pause here as he absorbs that information* Because of...everything he did? *even if his Seishirou had been like that one, he didn't think he would ever be capable of killing him*

... no. It was possibly the only way for him to believe death does not exist here ... and I-- ...

You...killed him just because of that?! *ok, totally not getting it now*

[sighs] ... if he were to know that death meant nothing here, he would find it useless to kill others while here. Regardless, that was not my only reason.

But...but isn't it still a bit too extreme?

... perhaps. However, I-- ... I don't seem to care much anymore.

... during the darkness. Do you remember the sakura tree?

You don't care?

Yes, I do...it was really mysterious...and nostalgic, somehow...

I don't seem to care about much of anything anymore. It's ... unsettling.

It is the symbol of the Sakurazukamori. Normally, that tree is the last thing people see before their lives are sacraficed to it.

... I was the one who made it, though not for the purpose of killing. You ... do understand what that makes me, I'm sure.

That's...strange.

The last thing they see...

T-then you're-! How?

... the last time the Malnosso kidnapped me, they ... corrected the vision in my right eye. They did so by switching it with the eye of the previous Sakurazukamori -- they must have taken it from my world, as Seishirou-san still had that eye when I saw him. It was after my return from that kidnapping that I became apathetic to everything around me. I suppose it's a side-effect of this ... change.

Besides that ... I did kill him in my world, after all. That is ... their rite of succession -- the former is killed by the next in line and gains their power. Perhaps that was that man's plan all along ...

They...switched your eye with the Seishirou-san's eye from your world?

You killed him in your world?

... yeah.

I thought I-- ... hn. It was far from intentional. I ... wanted him to kill me, but it ... didn't work out that way.
