Well, then...
Let's get started, shall we?

The excavation to the planet while the ship was being repaired was more than plentiful for me. It offered me insight to my rival, and allowed me to see just how much of Kira he really is.

Misa is here now as well, which disturbs me a little as she is proving to be an obstacle. It's hard to get time with Yamagi-kun without her tagging along. I have no choice, however.

I'm well aware that Light has confessed to being Kira. The problem lies beneath that, however. I didn't get to hear those words. I wasn't around to hear that confession I wanted so badly. That is why I'm chasing it even now. I feel as though after hearing it, I can go peacefully. I'm willing to go peacefully if I can hear those words from the lips of my opponent.

Yagami-kun, you really are my first friend, but even now you are my enemy. Our lines will cross, and we both know it.

At any rate, there was tension on the planet we were stranded on. I'm sure Yagami-kun felt it as much as I, if not more so. I still can't quite forget it, though, even with my investigations regarding this ship, the captain, and the crew. There are nights when I lie awake and stare at the ceiling, wondering what would have happened as I laid in the sand.

I really messed it up that day, by saying you were Kira. I messed it up... I wonder what I mean by that.

After the planet, this ship became infested with ghosts. This isn't something completely unnatural to me. Of course, I prefer something with more substance, so I can study it and I was unable to do so with the entities from the underworld. I guess since that's passed, however, it's of no relevance. My research has led me straight back to where I started: position one.

The captain. He has no name, outside of the one he tends to use in the instant message boxes.
He has no identity, it seems, or at least cannot be identified.
No one has ever seen him, which makes it a little more difficult to pinpoint his physical characteristics.
No one has ever heard his voice, or managed to find the room that he commands this ship from.

He truly is an enigma, but I find it all the more compelling to discover whatever his ulterior motives may be.

It looks like I have much further to go and much more to dig through.
That's two hundred twenty-one sugar cubes.

I'm still alive, my successors.
I'm sorry for my silence.
