sometimes it's so hard to remember why they put up with their boyfriends.
s. it's the new year and they're all stressed.
a/n. challenge with kikiam; she chose this kangteuk/aibajun sentence from the one sentence meme, and gave me the additional prompt: 'drinking sake and soju outdoors on new year's eve'. afdsgdk to be honest, i'm not really all too familiar with the suju fandom except from whatever she forces on me, and also the super junior movie (attack on the pin-up boys), which i liked, and all 13 episodes of super junior full house, so, uh, yeah. this was born mostly out of inside jokes and lulz AND IT WAS A CHALLENGE, OKAY? okay, just so we're all clear. :D also, kikiam wrote me AMAZING NINO/KYUHYUN CRACKFIC in exchange for this. you all must read it. Nothing was set for the New Year's celebration, which kind of ticked Matsujun off. He sent Kangin and Eeteuk off to do additional groceries two hours ago, he can't figure out what the hell was taking them so long.
"They probably got sidetracked," Aiba teases him, having noticed the annoyed expression on his boyfriend's face.
He gets a glare instead, and a, "This isn't the time for jokes Aiba-chan. Did you buy the proper fireworks?"
"Yes, Matsujun. Relax, new year's eve is going to be perfect," Aiba says, "Do you need my help in anything?"
Matsujun sighs, feeling a little guilty about almost snapping at Aiba, "Not really. Just, um, go and wait for Kangin and Eeteuk in the living room?"
Aiba just smiles at him brightly, and sauntered off to the living room, knowing better than to bother Matsujun during times like this.

Another hour later and Kangin and Eeteuk walk in the apartment, Kangin loaded with grocery items. Eeteuk immediately heads towards the couch and sprawls lazily next to Aiba, after greeting him a cheery "Yo!"
"Jun's been waiting," Aiba says, smiling sympathetically at Kangin. He knows by now how Eeteuk can be.
Aiba stands up, following Kangin to the kitchen, knowing that he can't leave Kangin alone with an irate Matsujun. Fortunately he did, as Matsujun seems really annoyed so Aiba drags Kangin out of the kitchen right after they arrange the groceries, just so Matsujun doesn't lash out at anyone and then later on just regret it.

Later on, Jun keeps telling them where to put what, how to arrange which, etc. etc., and it's really fortunate that Aiba has learned to be very patient with him. (Which isn't really a problem, Aiba knows Matsujun is patient with him a lot of times too, and it's good that they complement each other perfectly that way.)
Meanwhile Eeteuk lounges around whining about how he can't help out with the setting up of the fireworks because his back hurts - his usual schtick. Aiba can see how patient Kangin is with his boyfriend, and he thinks it must be the same for the two of them.
Aiba catches Kangin's eye and they just look at each other and sigh: sometimes it's so hard to remember why they put up with their boyfriends.

Even later that night, they all watch fireworks together and Jun is more relaxed now, and happy. They're drinking alcohol (Jun wanted some special wine, but Aiba and Kangin were able to convince that normal sake and soju would do well for that night, and Jun gives in because Aiba smiles that smile at him, and of course he can't resist).
Eeteuk is already very very red and very very tipsy, and apparently he becomes really horny when drunk because he keeps touching Kangin in all sorts of inappropriate places, and it's a good thing Aiba and Jun are bandmates with Ohno and Nino, and they've all gone out drinking enough times for Jun and Aiba to be used to this kind of drunkenness. Kangin doesn't really seem to mind, except he seems to be slowly be weaning Eeteuk off of alcohol. Eeteuk smiles at Kangin, and whispers something to him, and Kangin just nods and smiles back.
Aiba and Kangin look at each other again and exchange a knowing smile - these are the times they remember why they stay with their partners.

[1] the rules were that the fic had to be written in a one-hour time-frame, had to incorporate the original sentence somehow, and had to be at least 500 words. :)appropriate punishments were set for whoever doesn't accomplish the task.
