IC Information
Name: I-pin
Age: 15
Occupation: Part-timer, Translations and Localization department
What company do they work for?: Vongola & Associates
Any changes to your character's appearance?: 15 year old I-pin, just a tad bit more fashionable. (doing away with the Chinese take-out delivery girl look. Definitely keeping the glasses.)
History:
The daughter of a linguist from Hong Kong and a Japanese chef, it isn't hard to imagine where Ipin's interest in languages (in her case, it was: the more languages she knew the better - having already learned two languages at home and then proceeded to learn a few more over the years) and her love for food came from. She is cheery, dependable, and a constant honor student so her peers in school have all looked up to her.
What is not commonly known is that she harbors a secret love for old action movies - kung fu flicks, samurai films, mobster movies, you name it, she's seen it. In fact she has seen these movies too much already that she turns quite violent when stressed. Thankfully, she has gone under counseling and her episodes of violence are very rare.
Currently, she works for the company Vongola & Associates as a part-timer in the translations and localization department. There, she is made to do small translation jobs on some titles in the children and young adult selections. It is expected that, as she progresses in her education, she will move on to bigger projects.
With the inevitable resignation of one of V&A's oldest linguists, it is more than happy to accept her eventually into their pool of employees. And why not, Ipin has been ranked 3rd out of 52,262 people who are promising linguists by one of V&A's most trusted advisers.
Character Age: 22
Any changes to your character's appearance?: None.
Type of change: Minor. She's a bit older, working full time, but still doing some schooling (post-grad studies) on the side.
Company: Vongole & Associates
Position: Translator, Book Development; Quality Checker, Production/Book Development.
Skills and Abilities: Ipin is, as she was in the past, very independent, methodical in her work, and is generally a good person to work with due to the dedication she puts into her work (which sometimes borders on workaholism). Possesses a critical eye for detail. Has seemingly boundless amounts of energy. Multilingual: (at least Japanese, Chinese-Mandarin and Cantonese, English, Italian and still learning a few others.) Adept at translating books in the genres: Action-Adventure, Crime, Detective, and Western (and is largely unexplained still.)
Updated History: Now holding a bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Ipin is able to take on her own projects (with the help of an editor) for the Book Development division of the V&A. She's very satisfied with the bulk of her work, and is of the opinion that she still has a lot more to learn in the industry.
