[He'd made a promise. And now that he's recovered, he can fulfill that promise. So he starts in that world he felt safest in his dreams: Twilight Town. And there, he walks carefully, keeping an eye and ear out for a familiar voice. He'd promised to take care of his Other--

[He's so--]

[He doesn't know. Doesn't know what he is. Nothing is familiar. At various turns, the world blurrs slightly, if he moves too fast. Roxas has to sit down more than once, but really, he's just falling to the ground, panting hard and staring around him with hazy blue eyes. Something's-- bad. Something's-- what is that word?]

[What is that word?]

[What are words?]

[He sits there, in front of the Haunted Mansion, and tries to think about what he's missing. Words. Everything. Alone.]

[reverse_destiny]

[The clocktower is his first stop, but when Roxas isn't there... He heads out to look around the mansion. And lo and behold, there Roxas is. And Sora is so very happy to see him--relieved, even.]

Roxas!

[And once he calls out that name, he'll be running right up to him, resisting the urge to cling to the other. He doesn't know much about this Roxas, after all.]

[vacationisalie]

[Someone calls out a name. Not just any name, but his name. Roxas tilts his head in the direction of the sound, watching someone approach him through the twilight. The setting sun is right behind them; he can't...see...]

[Until they're closer. Until Sora's standing over him, and Roxas is staring up with wide eyes. He feels-- feels?-- feels...]

[He doesn't know. But it's not bad.]

...I know you.

[reverse_destiny]

...That's right.

[It's starting from scratch. He knows that. But he's happy, because... Because something tells him everything will be all right. So he quietly, patiently, holds out his hand.]

[vacationisalie]

[Roxas stares are Sora's open palm for a moment-- wondering what to do with it. It's such an easy gesture; so natural. Sora's calm and at ease with the action, looking like he just won the lottery.]

[...He supposes, if he just reaches out his own hand, holds it out too, Sora will do the rest. So that's what he does, holding out his palm and looking to Sora to see if he's gotten it right.]

[reverse_destiny]

[Sora pulls Roxas up, slow and gently. But he doesn't stop there. He shakes his hand, then.]

...I'm Sora. And... I finally found you.

[vacationisalie]

[Roxas looks at their entwined fingers with a sense of fascination. There's a warmth there, one he hasn't felt before in his short life, one he probably wouldn't have felt in the future at all if not for-- he looks back up at Sora, expression wondering.]

You were looking...for me?

[reverse_destiny]

Yeah.

[He enjoys that warmth, too. It's a sense of... Well, belonging. A connection that can't be seen, but can be felt. It's... Is this what the Roxas and Sora in his dreams felt? He can't blame them for being close.]

...So... Let's be friends.
