Welcome to the Reapers' Game.

However it is, you've managed to end up in Shibuya. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that you've died here. And after death, someone approached you and offered you something: a second chance. But on one condition ( Read more... )

There is a young girl; someone who should probably be in school by the look of the uniform looking at her palm. Those two older men had promised her they'd help her find a partner to pact with, but as it stood, she had a feeling that she would find one better on her own. After all, someone in a group right off the bat would be harder to spot over one who was alone and looking around suspiciously.

Closing her phone after taking a picture of a street sign, she noticed someone who... didn't quite blend in with the others. Was he like Kefka-san and Kuja-san?

One way to find out. She closed her eyes, trying to read his thoughts... nothing. Huh.

"...Are you a Player?"

It was a good thing that she was rather used to being patient, knowing most secrets around her.

Yes, she is talking to you. Why else would the girl be looking at you with a cold look and more than likely raising an eyebrow at the mental 'huh wha-?'

Homura spared a nod regardless, showing the timer on her hand. "I'm certainly not a Reaper." She paused, looking at him. "Have you found anyone to forge a pact with?"

"No." Firion was the third she'd met; the other two having been pacted before she'd awakened. While Homura appreciated the honesty, not understanding the riddle... Well, with how he was dressed, she couldn't exactly blame him for not understanding it. It was like he'd walked out of a video game...

"The one under Jack is 'ten.' Three's superior, 'four.' We're supposed to make it to 104--a shopping center." The girl paused, looking around to be sure none of the creatures she'd more than likely mistake for witch familiars otherwise were around before looking to the man again. "Pact with me. I know the area well enough."

...He didn't understand. That much was discernible just by looking him in the face. Still, she would wait until asked to answer any questions. Akemi learned the hard way not to outright tell the truth to those who might wish want to hear it. Still, there may be a way to state it otherwise ( ... )
