[When you live your life on a ship, the rare reprieves on land that last more than a week are heaven. There had been talk of storms kicking up soon, that the sea was primed for it. So they had landed on the small island, prepared to wait it out and longer so that the crew could rejuvenate. But for the captain's daughter, this was another opportunity. It was a time to stretch her legs and to swim.
So she wades in the water, shoes left behind as the sea laps at her ankles. She's looking for a good, calm spot to dive at to collect crab and shellfish for dinner. If she's out here, she might as well be useful, after all.]
