[ And then, from behind, AN ATTACK! Of... hugs. Yeah, real deadly, them hugs. ]

Usagi-chan, where've you been? We waited an hour and then Rei had to get back to the temple and Ami had cram school and Makoto had garden club and I didn't have anything to do.

[ She pouts a little, teasingly. Well, Usako? Your excuse? ]

[ So it was Minako tonight, was it? If dreams could have tears, hers would, but instead she just smiles and pats her friends arms gently. ]

I'm sorry, Minako-chan! I just got so caught up looking at the cherry blossoms!

[ Seeing as how she's covered in the petals, that story could hold true. ]

I guess I lost track of time.

[ There's something a little off, but Minako just assumes she's missing Mamoru it's pretty much par for the course these days. Unless she's really melancholy, Minako won't pry. Though she will try to be cheering. ]

Soooooo guess who got some of the new Three Lights merchandise before it went on sale!

[ She pulls out three little plushies of the Three Lights and presents them proudly ] TA-DAH! I thought about keeping all three but I've only got so much room on my Three Lights shelf, so I thought you might want one!

[ And there were the Three Lights. Man, that made her heart twitch in pain but she didn't want to ruin the dream with her sadness. ]

Ooooh! I want to see! I want to see!

[ Reaching up, she excitedly moves to take the plushies carefully so she can inspect them carefully. ]

They're so cute! But, are you sure I can have one?

[ Minako laughs sheepishly and shrugs ]

Uh-huh! I thought, since you've been missing Mamoru-san so much, you could use something cute and cuddly and limited edition to cheer you up!

[ Part of her weeps for breaking up the set, as she may not be able to replace it. But that part is small compared to the part that likes to keep Usagi smiling. ]

But you know I've got all my stuffed animals at home, Minako-chan! You don't really have to..

[ She knows how much Minako likes having full sets of the things she's into. It's hard enough to get her to part with things once she's enamored with them! ]

I don't think the Three Lights would like being seperated like that! I mean, they're a team!

[ Just like they used to be. ]

[ Baw, Usagi, stop trying to undermine her sweet gesture! ]

They won't be separated, not really! Because you'll have one and I'll have the other two, so as long as we're a team, they're still a team!

[ That's guaranteed to make Usagi feel better about it, right? :D ]

[ Oh god, Minako you're making it so hard to keep her cool. But she will. She will because even if it's a dream, she doesn't want one of her dearest friends to worry too much about her well being. ]

Well....

[ She fingers the plushies in thought before she holds them back out for Minako to take. ]

Okay! Which two did you want to keep?

[ Minako thinks for a moment, and then holds out the Yaten plushie for Usagi ]

Here. Yatenplushie-kun is the cuddliest, and the best for hugging when you feel lonely!

[ Gingerly taking the silver haired Three Lights plush, Usagi wraps an arm around it and holds it to her chest. She holds it tightly, because she's already so lonely. It helps to squeeze it but in the end, she loosens her grip and grins at her friend. ]

He feels pretty good for cuddling! Thanks a bunch, Minako-chan!

[ Minako smiles back at Usagi as she tucks the other two plushies back into her bookbag, and wraps her arms around her friend in a tight hug. ]

Come on, I'm in the mood for ice cream and Ami isn't here to tell us to study!

I heard that there's a new flavor at the shop near the bus station!

[ She hugs back just as tightly while trying to stand up from the bench. ]

We should try it out and tell the others what we think!

[ After they pig out on all the other flavors of course~ ]

Definitely! We will be the most informed ice cream connoisseurs in Tokyo!

[ Minako strikes a pose, as she is wont to do, then, grabs Usagi's hand with a laugh. ] Come on!

[ Minako's hand feels so warm around hers. She had always believed that this, the normal day to day of friends hanging out and doing mundane things, would always last.

Squeezing the other girls' hand a little tighter than normal, she rushes forward to lead Minako to the ice cream shop. ]

We should go shopping later too! I want to see if they have some new accessories at that cute shop we pass by to get to school!

[ Minako notices how tightly Usagi is clinging to her hand, and a concerned frown flickers briefly across her face when Usagi turns away. Still, this is clearly helping cheer Usagi up - she can wait and ask what's wrong later...

Except that there are strange things starting to happen again, and, well, Minako wouldn't want to miss something that might be important later. If Usagi's really upset, she needs to know why. She slows, and looks seriously at Usagi as they walk. ]

Usagi-chan... is something bothering you?

[ No. No no no. There's a bit of panic that shoots right through Usagi's whole being. She hadn't expected her dreams of all things to be this perceptive. ]

A-ah..

[ And she can't even use her normal excuse of Everything is just fine! on Minako. That'd be like lying, and she absolutely hated doing that. ]

I'm just really glad that I get to spend time with you, Minako-chan.
