Who: Sora ( lockandkeyblade ) and Riku (the_daybreak )
Where: Destiny Islands
When: After the dreams begin.
What: Riku and Sora live day to day as normal boys do. But when the world of their dreams -- the world in which there are keys and light and dark and cloaked strangers, and creeping creatures called heartless -- begins to bleed into the real world, can they survive it? Can they keep their friendship from crumbling as their dream selves are driven apart by the encroaching darkness?
Warnings: None so far. May change.
The day starts like most others, completely unremarkable and nearly identical to the rest. It begins with a sluggish Sora trudging into a classroom mere seconds before the first bell rings, and ends with him counting down the seconds until the last period ends. As per usual, he stuffs all his belongings in his bag at day's end and makes his way to his best friend's classroom several doors down.
Like always, Riku is there waiting for him, book bag or jacket slung over his shoulder. Like always, the afternoon sun is a welcome change from the over-air-conditioned classrooms of their school. Like always Sora goes to meet his best friend with a smile.
It'll always be this way, Sora thinks.
But there's a shift in their destiny, a divergence in their path, that perhaps says otherwise. And both Sora and Riku are none the wiser.
