Thanks for your detailed comment. Seriously you pick up on so much and I'm just like - woah, you noticed?? It's interesting that despite Pike and Winona disappearing, you still remember them and are expecting them to show up - damn, I was kinda hoping for Spur-of-The-Moment rescue just like the Enterprise came out of warp blasting at Nero and beamed our intrepid heros to safety in STXI :)
NO!!! No non-con in my Star Trek Pern AU Basically Pern exists as a planet in ST verse, the Surak followers left Vulcan [like the Romulans did basically] and colonized the planet, when Thread came, developed the dragons and were the original dragonriders, who then upon the arrival of crash-landing humans (early colonists), gradually shared their planet and passed on the role to them There is less technological degradation cos the Vulcans have long memories and live longer to pass on this knowledge - no spacefaring tech, but enough for basic airflight vessels STXI characters... I dealt away with the female-must-be-gold/green thing, for convenience and as part of the plot It mirrors the STXI movie a little :) Jim being asked to enlist, meeting McCoy rah rah...
Ohh, your Pern adventure does sound interesting, cool. I am glad to hear no non-con too.
As for Divergence, The Enterprise's rescue of the embattled Fleet ships was spectacular, but everyone was commenting on that, and I was so struck by how well you handle the character interaction. That I couldn't fail to mention it. As for Pike and Winona's disappearance, well, laughs, your tastes just don't seem to support random, or viciously in plot character death, thank goodness. So they have to turn up somewhere, and yeah, gleeful smile, I was hoping for another fab rescue, shhhh, I won't tell anyone, honest. I mean how great is it, for Winona to save both Kirk, and young Jim's butt at the same time by being in the right place at the right time, and being hideously, insanely sneaky. I mean you made her so awesome earlier in the story, and Jim has to get it from somewhere, or two somewheres in this case, that now I expect it of her. I love this stuff, grins. Great job. -SB
