I hate it when people post fic without a proper header. I have seen this a bunch lately - people crossposting fic to comms without a header with a summary and rating and warnings, etc. Just a title and a link, and maybe the pairing. Should I be as annoyed as I feel ( Read more... )

If you're being irrational, I am too. I hate it. I also get really annoyed when no word count is posted but I know that's probably just me. I like to know in advance if this is a fic I need to mark and come back to when I have more time or if I can read it in the amount of time I currently have, you know? I almost never read a fic that doesn't give a word count.

I get really annoyed too, mostly because of the lack of warnings.

(I once accidentally read a fic with bestiality in it because there were no warnings. Did. Not. Want.)

I think it was through blindfold_spn or some kind of kink meme, so I felt it was a risk that kind of came with the territory, but I was not happy.

Yeah, but with kink memes, you expect the fills to match the prompts and read them accordingly. Like, say I like Dean/girl!Sam (which I do) and I see one at the kinkmeme. I'm gonna go "yes!". If there's then surprise!bestiality, I would be all O_____O.

Not irrational -- hey, I only have so many hours in the day, you gotta make it worth my time, especially in more general comms where you don't even know the pairing. Also, word counts are NOT optional.

(Can I rant here about how annoyed I am where I see the same fic posted in like forty-seven parts, each part cross-posted to eight different comms? I know the fic exists, now knock it off!)

To be fair, I've seen this in spn_gen (where there are no pairings) and spn_het (where the pairing was specified).

I'm coming to dislike WIPs in general. Just write the damn fic and post it then. I don't want to see your banner eight million times. atimi is excepted, I like her WIPs. /entitled
