Huginn og Muninn (Thought and Memory)
Rated: 13+ for adult themes
Notes: It seems obvious that Buliwyf’s past plays a great part in the present of The 13th Warrior. As Buliwyf lies dying, what goes through his mind?

If you have not read my manifesto on the relationship between Buliwyf and Weilow, it may enrich this story for you ( Read more... )

I'm glad it sorted itself out; the major thing I have been afraid of is its incoherency. But I also tried to deliver some nice lines to stand out on their own, so I'm glad those worked for you too. ;D Thanks very much!

As for more...I'll keep it in mind. I don't feel done yet.

Gorgeous! Knowing how much Buliwyf lost, his death is even more tragic. But still so heroic. Love all the relationships you showed here.

Thanks for linking to this (and your manifesto). I hadn't thought that Buliwyf and Weilow had a past, just that they'd felt an instant attraction, but you've made a convincing case.

This story has so much in it, you could expand it into a novel. I love the idea that Buliwyf is telling Ahmed about his life; I love the scene where the young, bouncy Herger tells Buliwyf that he's going to Rome, and then the transition to the 'present' in the next section; I love how you've threaded Wigliff's story in and out -- his obsession with Buliwyf, the dead frog, the murders, his end. I only wish you'd given us a bit more Buliwyf/Weilow, especially in that last scene with the sword...

I'm really glad it worked for you, that you were able to follow the threads and make some sense of it. I see what you mean about there not being enough to the ending. I think there is room for a lot more of Buliwyf and Weilow's story to be told, but as of yet I don't have any ideas. :)
