Iconic Icon is Iconic

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm trying very hard not to spam my f-list with Gary Oldman-related posts, but this is something that I simply cannot avoid posting. My sincerest apologies.

On Sunday Gary won Empire Magazine's Icon Award at the annual Jameson Empire Awards in London. The honor is awarded based on the actor's entire body of work and contribution to film. It's not an Oscar or a BAFTA or a Golden Globe (awards for which Gary has been criminally overlooked), but he nevertheless seemed grateful and proud to receive it.

The award was presented to Gary by his co-star and friend Colin Firth. They both mentioned (excitedly so) their work on the highly anticipated Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy in their speeches. Since LJ is being uncooperative and refuses to let me embed the video, pleasepleaseplease watch it on my Tumblr or at Empire's website.

ETA: Never mind. I found it on YouTube. Yay.
