I really don't know why I don't watch 30 Rock on a regular basis.  I love Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey (Tracy Morgan not so much, but whatever).  I think I was a little bit miffed that NBC picked up 30 Rock and cancelled Studio 60 even though they both had equally sucky ratings.  I'm over it

I didn't/don't watch 30 Rock more because Tina Fey was so outright rude in her comments about Studio 60/Aaron Sorkin. It shouldn't have been a competition, and she joined the media in making it one.

What can I say, I carry a grudge.

That said, I have seen part of one ep, and it was funny enough, and I'll probably look up Janel's ep...would have watched tonight, but I was otherwise occupied. :-P

I must have missed her comments, or maybe I just don't remember them because it was so long ago.

Janel's ep is worth a watch just to see her. Her part isn't huge, though, and she doesn't appear until the last 10 minutes.

30 Rock is probably my favorite comedy on tv right now. I hate to say it but I like it more than The Office these days. I LOVE it. It is usually laugh out loud funny.

Tracy is actually great. Tonight's episode didn't give you a good example of how he can shine in that role. The character that I can't stand is Jane K's character. She's like chalk on a blackboard for me. But overall, the cast is just so lovable.

If you can, you should watch an episode called "Tracy does Conan" from Season 1. There's so much to love.

I was so glad to see Janel do comedy. She would be great in a sitcom.
Sing it. I really wish she would get a sitcom. She's got great comic timing.

I hate to say it but I like it more than The Office these days.

More than The Office?! I don't think I can like anything on TV right now more than The Office, but I will give 30 Rock a chance.

I didn't like Jane Krakowski in Ally McBeal and I didn't like her in this episode either...I don't think it's the character, I think I just don't like her as an actress.

I will have to get my hands on that ep and watch. I wasn't a fan of Tracy Morgan when he was on SNL, but maybe I will like him better after seeing more episodes 30 Rock.

Piney, you absolutely should be watching 30 Rock, even when Janel isn't on. :-) It's the best comedy on TV.

(The Office is one of my all-time favorites, but it's a different flavor of funny, and actually has a great deal of drama in it. Whereas 30 Rock is 99 percent funny.)

I agree with Gatzy about Tracy Morgan. This wasn't a good episode to showcase him. He's really, really funny. And Jack McBrayer, who plays Kenneth the Page, steals almost every scene he's in.

I have a feeling Jack jingling the keys for Kathy Geiss' photo shoot isn't quite as hilarious if one is not a regular viewer. :-)

Here's what I want to know, how did she not realize that Jack was not really Larry? How do you not recognize your ex-boyfriend you've apparently been in love with for the last 20 years?
I thoroughly enjoyed the way they layered the obliviousness regarding "Larry." I thought Janel did a really nice job as the straight man.
I would like to see her do a comedy, too. She's funny.
