my cleanse, day three

Day three, much improved...

Day Three, 9/13/07
I had gone to bed at the end of the second day feeling a little like I'd been run over by a truck and miraculously walked away. So, worn out but pleased. Woke up on day three at 6:00AM but decided that was inhuman and tried to sleep some more. However, the laxative tea insisted it was time to get up and that's not a force to argue with. I did cheat though and lay back down for another half an hour after that. But by 7, I was up with teeth brushed, not at all tired and noted that my face didn't even feel like it needed washing, my skin felt so nice. Same routine as yesterday, took the kids to school, came home, salt water flushed.
Noted that I didn't feel at all hungry despite the fact that I hadn't eaten food in 60 hours. In general, I was feeling significantly better than the prior day. But then, that day had started out just fine too.
No morning coffee ritual again, so I prepared myself for a caffeine headache to develop throughout the day and got my work done early so I wouldn't be trying to think if I fell apart again later in the day. As afternoon rolled around I noted that the caffeine headache wasn't too bad, certainly better than the previous day and though I was feeling a bit hungry, I felt otherwise okay. By 4:00 I'd only had 4 glasses of lemonade stuff so the hunger made sense. I did experience a craving for some of my homemade flour tortillas around the same time, and promptly went to make more lemonade.
Spent some time wondering at what point I might begin feeling more of the positive effects of this cleanse. As of yet, other than my skin looking a little better and feeling a bit lighter, it seems the most obvious physical signs I'm doing anything different is the amount of toilet paper I've gone through and the massive quantity of lemon rinds in my compost pile. I debated on going someplace where they sell scales and weighing myself just to see if I could see any concrete evidence of this cleanse, lol. Decided not to as it seemed like more effort than it was worth since I really don't care about the weight anyway.
Anyway, by the time I went to cook dinner though, I was feeling pretty good. Really good actually--energetic and happy, good enough to note that it was a feeling I've usually had to pay for. ;) I had drank less lemonade at this point than I had the previous day and I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but I wasn't questioning it.
The energy carried on through the rest of the evening mostly and I drank a few more glasses of the lemonade, but by about 9 my head had really started hurting and my sciatica was acting up. I am reasonably certain that neither of these things had anything to do with the cleanse, but it is worth noting that I had drank a glass of lemonade every hour since I started cooking dinner, twice the frequency I'd drank it earlier in the day.
Even with those pains though, which may or may not be related to any of this, the day was way better than the previous day. I did get tired earlier still--I was nodding off by about 10 and had to wake myself up enough to drink my tea and then hit the sack. Finished up with 9 glasses lemonade, same water and tea intake as the previous days. Oh yeah, the boredom with the lemonade drink wasn't nearly as strong to day either, interestingly. Okay, day three, complete.
