Name: Bishamon (aka the Shintenshi, Akio the Seraph, and Venus)
Fandom: Zone-00
History: Bishamon is a Yatagarasu, a legendary three-legged golden crow, and the eldest of three Yatagarasu brothers. Regarded widely as one of the most powerful creatures in existence, he served as Guardian to the Witch of the South, Sera. He was deeply in love with her, but when she was murdered by the Shima family he failed to protect her and had his powers and sight taken from him - for so was the curse of Guardians who outlived their witches. However, overcome by grief and bitterness, he consumed Sera in the grossest of taboos, regaining his powers but forever loosing his sight because of Sera's jealousy and her wish for him never to gaze upon another.
His time as a Guardian over and his father dead, Bishamon took over the leadership of the Tengu upon Mount Kurama. This position would later force him to exile his brother Beten from the mountain for nearly annihilating the Shima House in revenge for Sera. After Benten's exile, Bishamon began to experiment with a drug he called Zone-00. Any humans who take it are turned into creatures (demons), and any demons who take it are given extreme, rapid healing abilities (whole limbs and even bodies can be instantly regenerated). However, extreme nightmares are suffered in return for taking the drug and can drive a person mad quite easily.
His exact reasons for making it so far have been unclear, though is assumed that he is doing it to break down the barriers between human and creature king, and is partnering with Rouji Kuwobara towards an unforeseen end, though it is assumed he is merely indulging Rouji as test subject. He has also used his smallest brother Benio as a subject, producing a special blend of the drug just for him after putting Benio back together after the smallest Yatagarasu was eaten. He is currently engaged in a battle with the Winter King Murakumo upon Mount Kurama after it is discovered he is the creator of Zone-00 and previous nearly killed Benten.
Age: His age is never exactly stated, but he is at least 600 years old according to implied dates and times throughout the manga and is actually probably much older and looks to be in his late twenties
Canon point: He is from the end of Volume 4 in the manga, right as he is about to finish his fight with Murakumo atop Mount Kurama (this will most likely get bumped as more about him comes out)
Personality: Bishamon has, for all intents and purposes, has a god-complex. His the strongest of his kind, and even among demon-kind, and views himself as both the lord protector of his people as well as their commander and owner. He rewards loyalty, but makes no rooms for failures and doesn't seem to have a problem with his men being killed in the 'line of duty' so long as they have served a purpose. He clearly doesn't approve of those he has not cleared using his drug, as most of his warriors on Mount Kurama are uninfected by his creation save for an elite few he has chosen.
To those who do not know him terribly well, he generally puts on the appearance and attitude of a 'sage'. He'll treat everyone he comes across with respect and general courtesy, even if he is not immediately afforded the same. However, this sage-like attitude hides a colder, deeper calculating mind and the tendency to look at people and treat them on some level as expendable and better off as lab rats than companions.
At his heart (deep in his heart, but still there), Bishamon is a good and loving brother, your typical 'older-brother' type. He does care deeply for this two younger brothers, often reassuring Benten as a child after he was teased for being only half Yatagarasu, and assumedly rescued Benio and sewed him back together after he was eaten. He even allows Benten to come and see him personally during his exile from the Mount.
But much of this becomes hidden behind a cool smile and dark intensions. Ever since Sara's death he has become something of a bitter man, seeing people and creatures not as living beings but as experiments. Sara's death and her overall jealousy throughout their relationship left him almost incapable of real love. These feelings further twisted, and he became to creator of the drug known as Zone-00 in order to break down the barriers of human and creature kind, which further fuels his over-all god complex.
Powers/Abilities: Bishamon possesses a set of 12 wings (which explains why he is called the Seraph), as well as extreme powers of wind and sound manipulation.
