It had been raining in Pittsburgh for three days, with no end in sight. Some tropical depression down in the Gulf of Mexico had shifted, and was now slogging its way north. Hilary Booth was currently alone in the station, having volunteered to be the one to stay, overnight, to make sure records were flipped and any urgent weather notices went out over the air.
In truth, though, she didn't mind having the place to herself. The empty studio was a surrogate stage, and she could perform all her favorite roles, with no risk of being upstaged by Grace Cavendish.
