The sounds of shrieking would, anywhere else, pull a crowd. However, here in the hangar, it was simply the sound of an entertained - and distracted - toddler. Mixed with the little girl's shrieks of delight were the whistles and beeps of an R2 unit.
Han glanced over, now and then, to make sure his daughter was still in sight. "Don't let her get too far," he warned R2, who replied with a low whistle, then squealed as he spun around and took off across the open space.
Jania shrieked again and smiled as she started toddling after the droid, arms waving in the air as she wobbled after him. The sound of her laugh made Han smile, and just as he glanced over his shoulder, Han saw her go down, face-first.
Dropping the tool he was using, Han bolted toward his daughter, who was pushing herself up. Her lip was starting to wobble, but she hadn't cried yet. R2 zipped back over, letting out a low whine as he neared.
"It's okay," Han nodded to R2, pulling Jania into his lap. He pushed her hair back and gave the little girl a smile. "See? You're okay." Jania's lip was still wobbling, and she leaned against him. "Let's not tell your mother, though. Just in case." R2 gave him a whistle of agreement as Han kissed Jania's forehead, then helped her stand up.
Pointing to R2, then to her, Han ordered: "Slow down." R2 whistled and then backed up, leading Jania away from where Han was working on the Falcon. Once he heard Jania laugh, Han knew she would be okay.
