"-neighbor said they were fighting last night," Brass recounted as Grissom and Catherine searched for any obvious signs of the weapon used to kill the man lying on the kitchen floor. "Loud enough that one of the neighbors must've called it in, because she said a patrol car rolled up around eleven."

Grissom was eyeing a bloody fingerprint on a teacup when he glanced up. He said nothing as Brass continued. "No answer at the door, so they circled the house and saw this, through the window."

"And the wife?" Grissom asked as he shined the flashlight on the bookshelf, where there was clearly something missing.

"Guessing she did it," Catherine replied from the other side of the room. Grissom and Brass both turned to see where she was, and then both men leaned, almost comically, around the counter, to see her kneeling under the dining room table. Raising her arm, Catherine used her flashlight to illuminate the probable weapon.

"In the kitchen," she drawled. "With the candlestick."

Grissom smirked while Brass rolled his eyes.
