Catherine's phone beeped for the third time. With a heavy sigh, she leaned sideways and pulled the device from her pocket. Flipping the cover open, she made a face as she glanced at the string of texts from Grissom.

Call me.
ASAP
Where are you?

Catherine shook her head and managed a one-handed reply.

You writing a book?
On the case you gave me.

Before she could even close the phone, it vibrated again.

419 at Grand.
459 in Pahrump.
621 in Summerlin.
Call me.

Catherine fought the urge to type back, asking why he hadn't just called her, but as Grissom was clearly making an effort to join the present, she restrained herself.

621?

A moment later, her phone rang and Catherine raised it to her ear.

"It was supposed to be 261," she heard Grissom. "I need you to come back to the lab."

Catherine made a face as she observed the crime scene she was in the middle of processing. "Sorry, Gris. I've got at least another hour here."

His silence said enough.

"I'll try and speed it up," Catherine sighed. "But no promises!" she added before hanging up on him.

Catherine rolled her eyes and flipped the phone shut. Just before she stuck it back in her pocket, the phone buzzed. Making a face, Catherine reopened the phone and noted the message, which made her smile.

Thanks.
