DG was sitting sideways in the armchair, feet hanging over the arm, while she stared up at the ceiling. She was supposed to be studying for an exam with some friends, but was instead in the middle of a discussion about the perfect name for the band they were going to start in a few weeks.

"How about Jacques Cousteau?" Colin suggested as he tossed a baseball into the air and caught it again.

"Because we're not a surf band," Devon replied, shaking his head. Turning to his left, the lanky teenager looked at the clock. "When is the pizza gonna get here?" he sighed.

"That's what you get for calling Stelvio," DG said in a sing-song. Next to Devon, Corrine was checking her makeup for the third time in ten minutes.

"Do you really think he's gonna bring the pizza? And do you really think he's even going to notice you?" Devon asked her before reaching for the lipstick she'd just pulled from her bag. "Oh, Antonio," he started, in a higher tone, "kiss me-" Corrine swung at him as he laughed and held the lipstick out of her reach. "Hey!" he snapped a moment later, "watch the shirt. It's new."

"Yeah," DG replied dryly, "wouldn't want to get lipstick on his shirt. Nicole," she said, giving the name an air of snoot, "might think he's having an affair."

Devon made a face and Colin pointed to her. "That's it! Lipstick Stain!"

Devon and Corrine both groaned, as did DG. "That's the name of a goth hipster band that only plays their music on a college station," she told him.

'Goth hipster band?' Devon mouthed, looking at Colin with confusion.

"Yeah," DG sighed as she stared at the ceiling again. "Big plastic-rim glasses, skinny ties, plaid shirts with pearl buttons… skinny scarves," she mumbled, then looked at her friends. "But everything sounds like BAHBAHBAH Rage rage rage!" she shouted, making a pained face as she mimicked every hard metal band ever.

The others started laughing and turned toward the door at the sound of the doorbell. Everyone looked at Corrine, who made a face, and then Colin pushed himself off the couch. "No, let me get it," Corrine insisted, shoving her friend back.

DG hauled herself up and moved over to take Corrine's seat next to Devon, and both of them leaned to see who was delivering the pizza.
