Giselle moved around the counter so that she could get a better view of Grissom's task. At the scoop of guts he pulled out, she made a face. "Why are you doing this?" she asked, trying not to let her discomfort show.
"It's tradition," Grissom replied, glancing up from his patient for a moment. "You want to try?" he offered, shrugging his shoulders slightly. Giselle made a face and shook her head as she stepped back.
"No, thank you," she replied, then leaned to get another look as Grissom reached for the knife. She winced as he stuck the knife into the flesh, and turned her head away. Grissom glanced back for a moment and smiled, before returning to his task.
About a minute later, Grissom leaned back and nodded. "Done," he announced, glancing back to look at the redhead. Stepping aside, Giselle now had a view of the jack-o-lantern Grissom had carved. She forced a smile, which made him frown.
"It'll be better in the dark," he nodded, wondering if he had any candles.
