for the
Recast challenge at
the_deepbluesea As with my
Tin Man recast... I'm pretty fond of the actual cast. In fact, I'm downright SET with the actual cast. But, for the sake of the challenge...
I got a little carried away and recast pretty much everybody.. so be warned: This one's a bit graphic-heavy.
for
bizarra, who puts up with this kind of crazy ALL THE TIME. ♥
Jeffrey Singer (William Petersen)
Jeff is the lead actor for WENN, until he's called to London during the war. He's married to Hilary Booth... this week.
Hilary Booth (Melinda Clarke)
Hilary is a former Broadway star - assuming you saw The Rivals - and WENN's star performer. Just ask - she'll tell you so. Also, there's only one 'L' in Hilary.
Betty Roberts (Sutton Foster)
Betty is WENN's head - and only - writer. She manages to keep the crazy train on the tracks on a daily basis. She's a bobcat when she's angry.
Scott Sherwood (Jonathan Frakes)
Scott runs the station after Victor goes to London. He also performs, in Jeff's absence. If you need to con a con, Scott's your man. He's in love with Betty.
Victor Comstock (Tom Berenger)
Victor is the station manager until he's called to London by the US Government.
Mackie Bloom (Brent Spiner)
Mackie is WENN's 'man of a thousand voices' ... somethings, he doesn't even know who he's doing. He's usually stuck in the middle of Jeff and Hilary's bickering.
Maple LaMarsh (Marg Helgenberger)
Maple's a former Burlesque dancer who came to WENN as a backup organist. She and Scott go way way back...
Eugenia Bremmer (Anna Kendrick)
Eugenia is WENN's organist and a constant source of optimism. She's also not one to cross before her first cup of coffee in the morning. She's in love with Mr Foley.
Mr Foley (Aaron Ashmore)
Mr Foley is WENN's sound effects master, as well as the keeper of ping pong balls and India ink (don't ask). He's the noisiest one in the group, though you'd never know it, as he's never said a word. EVER.
Tom Eldridge (Dick Van Dyke)
If you take a look at Mr Eldridge's job application, the line where it says 'duties' simply states: Mr Eldridge. He knows a lot more than he lets on.
Gertrude "Gertie" Reece (Julie Andrews)
Gertie is WENN's receptionist. She and Hilary don't get along, and she'll share her opinions with anyone who doesn't ask for them. She's an aspiring writer, and has penned two scripts that have nothing to do with Casablanca or Sunset Boulevard.
CJ McHugh (Sean Murray)
CJ is the station's sound engineer. He rarely knows what's going on outside his booth, but somehow manages to make sure the place runs smoothly. If he's not at the station, he's across the street at The Buttery, enjoying Welsh Rarebit. Also, the stuffed albatross is his...
Rollie Pruitt (Tim Curry)
Rollie Pruitt works for the station's owners and moves in to take over when he finds evidence of Scott's misdoings. Unfortunately, his own misdeeds are worse, and the staff becomes the target of an investigation as Nazi sympathizers. Fun fact: There's not a germ alive that could survive Pruitt's body.
Mr Medwick (Victor Garber)
Mr Medwick is the owner of
Pennsylvania Pantry, one of WENN's most loyal sponsors. He loves the station and has a soft spot for everyone who works there, even if they're all crazy.
Celia Mellon (Kristin Chenowith)
Celia is an aspiring actress, destined for the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. She may be blonde, but she knows just how to get what she wants.
Pavla Nemkova (Alex Kingston)
Pavla is a Czechoslovakian actress who befriends Jeff while he's in London. When she finally arrives stateside, she brings news that Jeff has divorced Hilary and married her. Unfortunately, no one told Jeff...
Gloria Redmond (Faith Hill)
Gloria owns the station. She's rarely been seen by the staff, as she's been mourning the loss of her husband (he died in a plane crash on Christmas Eve 1939).
Grace Cavendish (Barbara Hershey)
Grace is Hilary's nemesis. She tortured Hilary while they were touring with Razzle Dazzle, and ended up becoming a huge Broadway star, while Hilary was relegated to Pittsburgh radio.
Gus Kahana (Patrick Warburton)
Gus is one of WENN's backup actors, which is a part-time job. He hauls grapefruit and has been seeing a young lady named Cora, when he's actually in town.
Lester (Gary Jones)
Lester is WENN's night shift sound engineer. He's been known to get a few black eyes when a lady's honor comes into question. Generally speaking, she prefers to keep it.
