WINTER
The first snowfall of the season wasn’t ever welcome for the residents of the Eastern Guild, especially when it came early. But, that morning, Adora stepped out onto the porch of the tiny cabin and she couldn't hold back a smile at the view.

Everything was covered in a white blanket, the sky was clear and blue and both suns were shining. It wasn't terribly cold, but the season had changed. She hoped that it wouldn't get colder, as there were only so many blankets.

Her musings, however, were interrupted at the sight of a person coming toward the cabin.

SPRING
"There's a storm coming."

Wyatt snorted as he finished writing up the report and glanced up to see Adora, standing at the window with crossed arms. His eyes narrowed slightly and he tossed the pen to the desk and he leaned back in the chair. "You know that, do you?"

Adora turned and gave him a look then turned back to the window. "It'll be a whopper," she said, ignoring his doubt. She stood there for another moment before uncrossing her arms and turning back to the desk they shared. "I'm going to check on Mister Browning, just in case."

BOHEMIAN
Wyatt followed Adora through the woods and was about to ask where they were going when the underbrush cleared. Just ahead of them, he could see a campsite, with a small hut pushed up against a tree. There was smoke puffing up from the poor campfire and Wyatt was glad for whoever lived here that the weather was still warm.

"Who goes there?" they heard and Wyatt automatically stepped in front of Adora as a grizzled older man appeared from behind the tree with a shotgun. Adora shoved Wyatt aside and stepped around him.

"Hello, Mister Browning." The shotgun lowered.

PROXIMITY
"We're going to try this again, but you have to relax," Wyatt said with a huff. Next to him, Adora rolled her eyes and let out a slow, deep breath. "Now," he said, reaching for her wrist and the pistol she was holding, "loosen." He gave her whole arm a shake and Adora flexed her fingers slightly around the pistol grip.

"Arm up," he said, raising her arm at the elbow and letting go of her wrist. Side-stepping, so that he was in line with her shoulder, Wyatt nodded toward the target and cradled her elbow. "Lock."

"You said relax."

LEAVE
Isaac pulled Adora back as Wyatt stepped away and leaned down to Jeb's level. "Hey," he smiled at the eight-annual-old, "you're going to take care of your mother for me, right?" Jeb nodded and tried not to look sad. His father had gone away before, but this was the first time Jeb could tell his mother was worried. Maybe it was because Grandpa was going, too.

"Wyatt," Ben called.

Wyatt's eyes moved away, but he didn't turn. He took a deep breath and smiled at Jeb before he pushed back up. His eyes caught Adora's and he mouthed 'Love you.'

MOXIE
After the third time Wyatt's back - and head - connected with the ground, he groaned and sat up for a moment before standing. "How did you do that?" Porter and Jack each offered a hand to help pull him up and Wyatt squinted in Adora's direction.

She shrugged and nodded toward him. "It's really not that hard." She raised a hand toward Levi and nodded. "Levi can do it." Wyatt looked at the Southern Guilder and then back to Adora.

Levi nudged Adora and whispered: "Are you planning to tell him that's the move we use to bring down a cow?"

WEATHER
It had taken Adora a bit longer to convince Mister Browning to find a safer shelter - he was a stubborn man - so, by the time she got back to town, the storm was practically on top of them. She clearly wasn't going to make it home, so Adora decided to head back to the jail and wait it out. Wyatt would just have to deal with company.

Wyatt was standing in the doorway, watching the light show, when Adora came into view. She was about 100 yards away when the rain started to fall and she broke into a run.

SPY
Clara had a habit of always knowing exactly what was going on around town. How she managed that trick was a constant conversation topic with the Eastern Guilders, but none of them had much luck figuring out how she did it. On one hand, everyone knew that it wouldn't be long to wait for the information, but, on the other hand, everyone was always a bit leery about doing anything, in case she found out.

On occasion, Clara might choose to forget what she saw or heard.

Like the afternoon she spotted Wyatt and Adora holding hands behind the jail...

INEXPLICABLE
"I didn't believe him," Adora whispered as she looked at the tiny, pink baby in her arms.

Beside her, Wyatt pressed a kiss to her hair and smiled as the boy's eyes opened slightly. "Who?"

"The Mystic Man," she replied. His tiny hand grabbed her finger and Adora's breath caught for a moment. "He said you would be home in time." Wyatt's brow furrowed slightly and he shifted.

"When did you see the Mystic Man?"

"A few cycles back. He was passing through on his way to Central City."

"But, I've been with him the whole time, 'dor. Every second."

BRIDE
Her dress was simple - she was the last person to need fancy - and he was not in uniform. Out here, they were just... them. There were clouds in the sky, but her father had said nothing would ruin the day. The whole town was there; they were her family, after all. They were also his family, and had made him feel like he always had lived there. Even the five men standing in the front row were their family.

He didn't hear what John was saying; he was trying to memorize the look on her face.

"Wyatt? ...Do you?"

"What?"

TRUANT
Adora's anger was bubbling to the surface as she headed for the treeline. She tried not to ask too much of Jeb while Wyatt and her father were gone, but she thought he would follow the same rules he had when Wyatt was home. The cows had managed to knock the gate free and were currently tearing into the grass because they had no hay.

She knew he was with the ducks - he'd been there every day since finding them - and, as she cleared the trees, Adora spotted Jeb kneeling near the edge of the pond.

"Jeb!" she called angrily.

DUSK
Wyatt had somehow managed to get back behind the wall. Porter and Charlie weren't behind him - he prayed they made it across the square and hadn't fallen, as Jack had. How had everything turned so horribly, so quickly? Just that morning, people were walking down the street. By noon, there was nothing but destruction. The businesses that had once been friendly to the Tin Men - places someone could go if they needed help - were the first hit by the explosions.

A woman had once gone into the bakery three doors down, on his order, while he dealt with her husband.

LIGHT
Adora had been gone for four hours before any of them realized she was gone. The men were used to her being up and out before the first sunrise, so it didn't concern any of them.

Not that they'd say anything if it did.

When she wasn't on the line, Wyatt threw a glance back to the barracks.

"Cain," the Chief barked.

"Sir!" Cain replied, standing straight.

"You're taking lead today, son." Wyatt nodded, ordered his fellow recruits to fall out and held back.

"Sir, Springer's-"

"Lieutenant Springer had a family matter to attend," the Chief replied, noting Wyatt's concern for the board.

The Chief was currently in the Top Five.

The Captain was in second.

REDOLENT
It was clear to the future Tin Men of the Outer Zone that they were in farm country. Only one of them, however, didn't seem to mind the smell. In fact, the others might suggest he was enjoying it. Of course, for Levi, the smell of cows was the smell of home. Well, it was a bit stronger than he remembered, but he'd also been in Central City for a while.

Following dinner, Ben directed them to the barn, as it was the only place to put them up for the night.

And the smell was even stronger in there.

KOOKY
While Adora had a made a deal with the Captain to work during the Festival, he had made it a point to station her right in the middle of the celebration. As much as she tried to stay neutral, habit won out and she was soon helping move tables, directing foot traffic and corralling children. She'd managed to get a group of them away from where the adults were trying to set up the hot dishes, and had them sitting on a nearby stoop.

She didn't think anyone was paying attention as she and the children acted out animal noises.
