Saturday's mail had brought an actual letter, so now that he had some time before class, Han took a few minutes to relax and read it. He settled in with a nutribar and a cup of coffee on his bed.
He read it twice, Bagoas's abominable handwriting made worse by the occasional Greek or Aurebesh character thrown in. It was short and sweet. He folded it up, tucked it in his shirt pocket and smiled, his mood better than it had been in a while.
He sat down at his desk and tried, in his best writing, to make some sense in his own letter back.
Hey Beautiful.
Yeah, I remember getting the radio when we were in Washington. And darlin', you know better than to believe everything you hear on it.
Glad to hear you two are doing okay. Don't let that tutor you mentioned work you too hard.
Me? I've got some easy classes and I'm finding more trouble than a nest of sand-vipers under a speeder door. I'll try to be good. Want to get that pass to come see you over Spring Break. You'd love my schedule, my earliest class is 2 PM.
Of course, Chewie says I keep getting detention, he's going haul my naughty furless butt back home and make me scour the carbon-scoring off the hull. He said to give his best love to the Beautiful Cub. He misses us.
Otherwise, I'm gonna stay quiet, do my work and miss you a lot. Pretty much what I normally do. Maybe I should pretend I'm grounded again...
You take care. Give Frank my regards. And Buffy says hello to both of you.
I love you and miss you always, a'roon.
Han sealed it up in an envelope and addressed it, following the exact wording on the other envelope.
