It was a Sunday and while weekends didn't mean much to Thompson on a regular basis, today, he seemed to have suddenly forgotten her. There was a single call at 6:30 in the morning to inform her that Carmen was requested to come in, but it failed to specify any details. Only that her own presence was not required. It was also, strangely enough, accompanied by something scarily similar to advice and that managed to confuse Candice more than her partner's undisclosed whereabouts. Since when did Thompson encourage her to take time off?
There was only one place she could go in Odessa, on a day off. It was also the only place she seemed to be able to drive to without getting lost.
