Running a hand through his cropped locks, Jamie simply looked at her a moment, before reaching over and snatching the cigarette out of her mouth.

"When are you going to knock this off?" he scolded lightly, grinding it into the cement with the heel of his boot.

"And one of us is late because one of us had things to do." Jamie shook his head. "Don't see why I even have to be here. A dupe could do the same job just as well."

She shrugged, rolling her eyes at his insistence that she stop smoking. A second later, she had another cigarette between her fingers, this one already lit up.

"If I have to suffer through this shit, then so do you." Everyone had better things to do these days, especially better things than track down resistance rats. "It's only fair," she grinned, handing him a file. "That's where we're going, but I assume you already know, right?" One of his dupes had been at the office earlier.

"Yeah, I know," he muttered, scanning through the file anyway. Glancing up to see she had yet another cigarette on hand, he rolled his eyes and handed it back to her.

"How much manpower are we looking at? I mean, I assume that's why I'm here."

"It is." She pursed her lips. "Parkman is doing some big raid so they're making us fly solo. Well, so to speak." It was never quite flying solo when your partner could duplicate himself into a milion copies.

Before he could ask, she took a drag of her cigarette and explained: "They think they've got a trace on Sylar." The one of many these days, but if they were sending Parkman... it had to be serious.

Jamie's eyes widened at the name. Tucking his hands in his pockets, he asked hesistantly, "They're sure? I mean, after the last time..."

Shaking his head, he shivered from more than just the cold, muttering, "Whatever. I'm glad we aren't on that one at least. A couple of wannabe rebels should be easy as pie."

A thought occured to him. "They're at least giving us some kind of lift there, right? I mean, I know we're going to have pick-up, but I'm not taking the subway like last time. That was just humiliating."
