"Just a sec!" came Nathan's voice from inside, accompanied by a high, shrill giggle that indicated the boys were being a bit of a handful. He opened the door with Monty squirming under one arm, and looked a bit surprised to see Angela there. "Ma? Is everything okay?"

"Of course it is," she smiled. "Can't a mother visit her favorite son once in a while?" Her choice of words couldn't have been more true. She looked at her grandson with a smile. "Monty, you look just like your father when he was your age." Her smile held until she met Nathan's eyes pointedly. "Shall we continue this inside or am I to be kept on your doorstep?"

"Of course."

He set Monty down, ruffling the boy's hair.

"Go and play with your brother, okay? Come on in, Ma. Heidi's not in just yet."

"That's alright. I'm sure she's a busy woman." Tilting her cheek for a kiss, she stripped off her gloves. "As she well should be."

Nathan's house was exactly what it should have been. The boys would grow up happily here. "How is Heidi?" she asked, marching into the sitting room without waiting to be invited. "I haven't seen her since our brunch."

"She's..."

Freaked out because she found out she married a flying man, but dealing with it better than he'd hoped?

Nope. Saying that would be a bad plan to top all bad plans.

(Except most of Peter's.)

"...good. Really good."
