Two rings, and then Cooper picked up, scrambling across the couch for the phone.

"Hey, this's Cooper Marshall."

His heart was beating loudly. Had it really been all that long since he'd talked to Cooper? It had only been a day, but so much had happened...

"Hi, it's Zach," he said, a little breathlessly.

"Hey, Zach."

He smiled a little, stretching out on the couch, cradling the phone between his ear and shoulder.

"What's up?"

He tried to keep his voice low as he heard Lance cursing the computer a room away. He felt like he was keeping secrets even though.. That was the opposite of what he was doing.

"Too much," he settled on. It was closest to the truth anyway.

A beat. "I missed you today."

"I missed you, too."

He hesitated, looking at the ceiling. Zach always spent the night at Lance's; it was the way things had been since they got to New York. And yet...

"You can come by if you want."
