The Midnight Run

Summary: Billy decides to practice his powers a bit. Cassie decides she can't miss this out.

"It's fricking freezing out here!" Cassie Lang exclaimed quietly to her friend Billy. "Why are we out here again?"
"Shush, Cass," Billy rebuked her. "We're not supposed to be here at this hour. Do you want the park rangers to hear us?" They were at Central Park, a few blocks away from Cassie's home. They'd planned to do this for a week, since Cass had discovered he'd had powers. She wouldn't stop bothering him, saying he'd be able to make millions off of his abilities. Billy had since given her a dose of reality, telling her his powers didn't work that often, and only when he really concentrated. She then convinced him to come over to her house to try working on it.
And that's how they ended up here on Saturday night- Or Sunday morning, depending on how you looked at it- both freezing to death in a bum-ridden park, avoiding the rangers and the things that went bump in the night in New York.
"Alright," Cass said, looking around. "This is about as secluded we can get here. Hurry up." Billy nodded and opened the backpack he'd brought with him. Inside were a few broken toys, an uncharged cell phone, and some candles. "you sure this is all you need?" she asked him. Billy nodded and sat down on the damp grass floor. Cass took a camera out of a pack that she'd been holding and turned it on. She brought the lens to her face and smiled. "This is Cassandra Lang, Seventeen years old, at New York's Central Park. It's currently midnight and cold as Hell. What you are about to see is completely real. No farce, no special effects."
She pointed it at Billy, who waved sheepishly. "Do your stuff," she encouraged. Billy nodded and picked up the cell phone first, concentrating on the phone completely and utterly. As sson as the phone was the only thing on his mind, he started to chant.
