This a lovely tag to the end of season eight. It's powerful to see Mulder to hear her say the words, even he if already knew the truth.

Yeah, season nine is such a downer after the lovely scene at the end of "Existence," isn't it? Sometimes I prefer to pretend the series ended at "Je Souhaite." But the end of season eight would have worked pretty well, too.

Yes, the end scene in Existence was the culmination of 8 years of love. I think I was especially touched when I read Kim Manners comment about Gillian and David reaction to this and the respect the crew paid them. That's kind of why I think I'm stuck in the moment. Thank you for your feedback!

Oh. Oh oh oh oh oh.
This:

She hadn’t seen then that it was the same for him. Mulder, who didn’t seem to care about the opinions of others in the Bureau, who flouted authority without a second thought and who went haring off at the drop of a hat in the name of the Great Truth, he’d felt that same blurring. He had his own lines and boundaries he’d drawn long ago to deal with the silence of his home in the wake of his sister’s abduction and the struggle for answers in the shadows of their world.

So lovely. Thank you for writing this.

This is very introspective, which is something that makes it very Scully-ish. I love this moment, and the domesticity and momentary peace it evokes.

You eloquently hit on Scully's control issues and how intimacy (not the act of sex but the emotional side of it) is difficult for her. This whole thing this is deep and lovely. :)
